

Kevin John Hardy, Jr. of Hammond, Indiana passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 in Pensacola, Florida. He was 28. Preceded in death by loving Grandmother, Phyllis Griffith of New Port Richey, Florida and loving Grandparents, Nancy Wilck of Matteson, IL and Bill Wilck of Harvey, IL.
Kevin is survived by Mother-Kathy Myers and Step-father-James Myers of Hammond; Father-Kevin John Hardy, Sr. and Fiancée-Sandy Logue of Geismar, Louisiana. He is survived by his brothers: Adam Joseph Hardy, Jason Mathew Myers and Timothy James Myers-all of Hammond, Indiana. He is also survived by Grandfather-Walter Austin Griffith, Sr. of New Port Richey, FL. He is also survived by his Aunt Pam and Uncle Roger Montano of Hammond Also survived by “Mom away from Mom” Janice Hardy of Caseyville, Illinois and Sisters: Brandy Arrasmith of Caseyville, IL and Vicki Luening, Sandy Arrasmith and Jennifer Wilson-all of Buckley, IL and his precious nephew, Cameron Alexander Hardy of Hammond Indiana and all of his many other aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him as their own.
Kevin was a graduate of Gavit High School, Class of 2000 where he excelled as a very successful student/athlete. He played Varsity Football, Varsity Wrestling and participated in Gavit Marching Band. He was a 1999 Hoosier Boys State Delegate and graduated #25 in his class and played Woodmar Boys Baseball Senior League from 1996-1997. Kevin was also a graduate of Purdue University Calumet; December, 2009. He graduated from the School of Technology where he attained AAS in Civil Engineering and AAS in Architecture with CAD Certification. He was a member of Purdue University Calumet Construction Organization (PUCCO) and volunteered with a crew for Hurricane Katrina relief, rebuilding houses. Kevin was also a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and a construction/tournament and concessions volunteer for South Hammond Babe Ruth Baseball. He was also a visiting member of Bible Baptist Church of New Port Richey, Florida. Kevin worked construction and concrete by trade.
Kevin was a gift of love and had a tremendous passion and zest for life and love for all of mankind. While Kevin was unmarried and left behind no children, he lives here on earth through others-he was an organ donor. Kevin was our miracle and while he will be deeply missed here on earth-the love, generosity, precedent for excellence, family love and loyalty will be honored through all those he loved.
Visitation/memorial/celebration of Kevin's life will be Friday, September 3, 2010 from 5-9pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home; family and friends please bring a picture or souvenir of your fun and friendship with Kevin to be placed on easels with your name on it at the bottom for photographing and production from Kevin’s family to be sent back to you to remember his mass love always; Kevin would always pick up a souvenir and then give one away...
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 12 noon; Co-officiated by Reverend Michael Poole and Kevin's Uncle Walter Austin Griffith, Jr.
