Laurie Renee Deskins

On May 6, 1977 a loving daughter Laurie Renee Deskins was born in Hammond, Indiana, where she later moved to Baytown, Texas.

Cherishing her memories are three children, Marquise Smith, and Kiana and Alicia St. Croix, Mother and Stepfather, Debra & James Szymaszek, Father & Stepmother Billy Sr. & Martha Deskins, sister, Elaine Deskins (Rueben), Brother, Billy Deskins Jr. (Jamie), half-sister, Cressie Deskins (James), two half-brothers, Chad Deskins (Jena), Jared Deskins (Cortney), one step-brother Joshua Szymaszek (Heather), three step-sisters Jennifer, Kimberly and Beth Szymaszek. Her grandparents, Beverly and Bill Ray Deskins, step grandparents Joseph and Sandra Szymaszek, and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents Edward J. and Betty Ernst, her uncle Rick Ernst and her uncle Barrett Deskins.

She was a fun loving and outgoing person. Laurie lost her battle with cancer and was with her family and friends at the time of her death. Laurie will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of her life will be Friday, October 3, 2014 at 5:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 South Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375), with Pastor Steve Martinez and Pastor Wally Klabo officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service.
