Maria Concha Hernandez Saucedo

Maria "Concha" Saucedo, 79, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010. She was born January 11, 1931 in Monterrey, Mexico to Encarnacion & Virginia (Garza) Hernandez. She married Efrain Saucedo on November 20, 1949 and he survives. Concha will be remembered for her excellent cooking, especially her cinnamon bread. She was a devout Catholic who lived the faith always. Travelling and crocheting were her passions, along with playing BINGO and going to the casinos. She was a seamstress for 30 years at the Albert Givens factory in East Chicago, IN.

Concha will be missed by her daughters: Esmeralda (Jose Luis) Germain, Roselinda (Santana Jr.) Sosa, Gloria (Valentino Jr.) Gonzales, Laura Saucedo. Ten Grandchildren:

Jose (Alma) Germain, Monik (Steven) Bodo, Juanita (Raul) Lozano, Rosy (Pedro) Sanchez, Santana Sosa III, Rosemarie (Rob) Valverde, Tom (April) Sosa, Venus (Jack) Lewis, Jessica (Jose) Montoya, Estefan Cordova. 18 Great-grandchildren: Jose, Roberto, Karyme, Kassandra, Lili (Jose) Del Toro, Austin, Jose, Anaca, Elesha, Marissa, Raina, Rocco, Maria, Taelor, Jasmine, Jessica, Ethan, Tiana, Alyssa. One Great-great grandchild: Ariel. Also survived by sisters: Yolanda (Reymundo) Reynosa, Teresa (David) Rios, Gloria (late Jose) Ordonez, Virginia (Alfonso) Montez, Lupita (Jose Luis) Martinez, Chela Hernandez, Chita Hernandez. A brother: Encarnacion (late Lupita) Hernandez and brother-in-law, Rosendo (Antonia) Saucedo.

Concha was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Roberto and Ernesto Hernandez.

There will be a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowbrook Road, Portage, IN 46368. Visitation at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass.

Visitation for Concha will be at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Schererville, IN on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
