Mark trained me as his replacement clerk for Illinois Bell out of Monee CO. He also tough me to play ping pong. I have a lot of great memories of those days.

Dear Sandra, Beth , and family,
  You a have my deepest sympathy at the loss of Mark from your lives.  I have looked at all of the photos, and can see what a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend he was.  And I believe that he is still loving you and caring about you.  I regret not being able to attend his wake or funeral, but, these days, my body keeps me from doing most things that once came easily.

I met Mark shortly after I married Beth’s cousin Charles. We were at a family gathering and a few relatives were saying how “strange” the Hofer family can be. Mark looked at me and said don’t blame me, I married into this. I said so did I and we high-fived and laughed. 😂   I work for AT&T, and he would often message me, “hey cuz…”, and occasionally his sister Sandy would, too, before they both retired….. God bless you, Beth, Robert, Stacy, Sandy, and all the kids.  Please have comfort in knowing that Mark is in Heaven and one day you all will be reunited again. 😘

Please except our most sincere condolences to Mark's entire family.

My son Aidan and I will always have fond memories of Mark on the golf course.  I will always be grateful of how Mark excepted Aidan at 13 years old joining the men's league and then giving crap to each other at the bar afterwards and Aidan arguing what his handicap should be.  Rest in peace my friend.  We will always remember.

I have known Mark since I was 7 or 8 years old when Beth and Mark started going together.  They practically lived at my parent's farm on weekends playing poker and pinochle.   Pinochle is still a game I don't understand.   

There were many fond memories of Mark but for some reason the one that stands out to me was Mark's 73 or 74 yellow Charger.   

I had the honor of standing up in their wedding.  Mark came to pick me up at our farm in Monee in his yellow Charger with white vinyl seats.  He had just cleaned it and Armor Alled the seats.   Mark drove me and Terry over to the tux rental to get fitted with me in the back seat.  Every time he took a curve or turned a corner, I was sliding back and forth in the back seat on the Armor All like a carnival ride.  I was 12 years old.  

I actually mention this memory to him at his 70th birthday party last year.  He did his usual laugh. 

Mark will be missed.
