Mary Elizabeth Stoughton

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bernard D. Stoughton; children, Rhonda (Johnnie) Grace and Mitchell Reese; grandchildren, Richard (Mary) Howe, Mychelle Merrill, Josh Freeman, Jeremy Roberts, Jeffrey (Brandi) Howe, Hailee Howe, Hannah Howe, Lyla Merrill and Kaleb Zeger; brother, Bobby Humphrey and her beloved canine companion, Misty.

Preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Reese and brother, Clyde Humphrey.

Mary Elizabeth was born on August 18, 1938 in Rainbow City, AL to the late Henry and Eula Humphrey. She married Bernard Stoughton on March 10, 1983 in Crown Point, IN. Mary Elizabeth retired from Fleming, Bates and Barber Insurance Company in Crown Point, IN with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family.

Mary Elizabeth was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Rebecca Sundquist officiating.

Private interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
