Mike was born May 30, 1940 in Steubenville, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife, Leona (nee O'Connor) Klausman, his beloved son, Mark (beloved Debbie) Klausman, and greatly loved grandson, Nicholas Klausman. Also left to cherish his memory are twin sister, Mary Garland, step-sister, Anne Fledderman, step-brother, John Klausman, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other special family members and dear friends.
Mike honorably served in the United States Air Force, and later in the United State Army Reserves as a commissioned officer. He studied six years for the Catholic priesthood, and finished his degrees at St. Joseph College of East Chicago. He became an independent insurance agent, having his own agency for over thirty years. Mike was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Dyer, where he served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He also served on the Lake Central School Board for 12 years. Mike loved his neighbors, his church, his community, his gardens, his riding lawn mower, and he touched the lives of so many...a generous and caring man...but most of all, he loved and treasured his family.
