ST. JOHN, IN
Richard J. Mecozzi, age 18, of St. John, passed away September 15, 2010. He is survived by his parents: Joseph and Leesa Mecozzi; one sister, Maeleigh Mecozzi; one brother, Peter Mecozzi; grandfather, Russell Huber; two aunts: Dara (David) Kubiak and Maureen (John) Mecozzi; two uncles: Michael (Susan) Mecozzi and Joseph (Rose Ann) Huber; six cousins: Russell, Matthew, and Mark Huber, Michael (Aimee) Mecozzi, Robert Mecozzi, and Abigayle Kubiak. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Phillip and Elaria Mecozzi; and maternal grandmother, Gayle Huber.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (1/2 mile south of Rt. 30), Schererville, IN with Dr. Bassam J. Alballah officiating. Burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rick enjoyed skateboarding, music and playing the guitar. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Northern Indiana Food Bank or Lutheran World Relief.
