Rita Ann Lugar

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alma Clements; as well as her beloved husband of 62 years, James Lugar.

Rita’s legacy lives on through her loving family; her son, Jim (Vickie) Lugar; daughters, Kami (John) Hartstein and Marta Lugar; her grandchildren, Nicole, Sean, Jennifer, Daniel, Carl, Jacob, and Lauren; and her nine adored great-grandchildren.

Rita had a zest for life and a heart full of joy. She treasured traveling, especially her unforgettable trip to Victoria, Canada. She enjoyed playing Bingo, attending jazz festivals with her husband, and spending time with her family. She also had a deep love for animals and found great comfort in the companionship of her fur babies.

Her warmth, laughter, and kindness touched all who knew her, and her memory will be forever cherished.

A visitation to honor Rita’s life will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, followed by a committal service at 2:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
