Robert W. Alkire, age 92, of Saint John, IN, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2018 with his loving family at his side.

Robert was born April 22, 1926 in Francesville, IN to the late John and Virgie Alkire. Preceding him in death is his loving wife Delores.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Vickie (Anthony) Delaney, Timothy (Debra) Alkire, Rose (Arleigh) Cyphert, Gail (Mark) Parkinson; grandchildren, William, Shawn, Jason, Amy, Jody, Chase and Callie; 12 great grandchildren; and loving sister-in-law, Mary (Dennis) Ortman.

Robert was an honorable man, who sacrificed for his wife and children. He was an Army World War II veteran, trade carpenter for many years, and retired as the lead carpenter at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and spending quality time with family.

Visitation will be Monday, June 25, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the time of his funeral at 2:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Crown Point, IN 46307). Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. To leave online condolences, please visit www.chapellawnfunerals.com
