Robert E. Janota

Robert E. Janota, age 63 of Bourbonnais, IL, passed away June 25, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kimber; 2 children Jessica (Brian) Fazio, Jared (April) Janota; 4 grandchildren Weston, Makenna, Peyton and Lyla; 5 brothers and sisters Randy (Terry) Janota, Russell Janota, Rory Janota, Margo (Robert) Norman, Christine (Greg) Koets, many nieces and nephews; in-laws Franklin and Doris Holler. Preceded in death by his parents Roland and Mary Janota. Bob was a carpenter all his life and was a member of Carpenter's Union Local 272. When his children were young, he coached their soccer and softball teams. He was also a part-time wrestling coach at Crete-Monee High School years ago. He was a graduate of Crete-Monee High School and also a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. Bob and his wife raised Quarter Horses and enjoyed taking them out to Colorado to help a rancher move his cattle and doctor them. Many great memories were made on those trips with this family and in-laws. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and attending their sports events. Bob will be remembered for his mischievous smile and playful personality by all who knew and loved him. His family was everything to him. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue (1/2 mile south of U.S. 30) Crown Point, IN. Private family burial.
