Robert “Bob” Rawlings, 91, passed away on December 23, 2025, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, IN. Born June 3, 1934, in Danville, IN, Bob grew up on the family farm where his lifelong love of nature and the great outdoors first took root.
Bob was a 1956 graduate of Purdue University, earning a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a proud Purdue Boilermaker who distinguished himself in the ROTC program, leading to his commission in the United States Air Force, where he honorably served, achieving the rank of Captain. Bob spent his career as a professional engineer in the manufacturing and public infrastructure sectors. He loved to build and create, enjoyed every challenge, and left much behind to be remembered.
Bob enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, camping, boating, traveling, and tending to his hardwood tree farm, which he developed and maintained for over 40 years. Many happy times were enjoyed at the farm with family and friends. He often said “work hard, play hard,” which he truly did.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Rawlings (Savka); his daughters, Valerie Wisor (David), Tamera Tate, Lindsay Rawlings and fiancé, Mike Neville, and Courtney Oldham (Justin); his grandchildren, Adam Tate (Talara), Ben Tate (Mary), Mackenzie Wisor, Audra Wisor, Harrison, and Violet; and great-grandson, Auden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Bonnie Rawlings; brother, Charles; sister, Mary Marie Mounts; daughter, Kimberly Dagia; and son-in-law, John Tate.
There will be a private ceremony, where Bob will be laid to rest in a columbarium in Crown Point, IN.
