RUTH A. JOHNSEN LAWRENCEVILLE, GA Ruth Alice Wilson Johnsen, age 83, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away November 11, 2012 at Peachtree Hospice Center in Duluth, GA. She is survived by her loving children: Robert (Esther) Johnsen of Highland, Sharon (Allen) Smith of Bristol, VA, Rick (Kathy) Johnsen of Griffith, IN, Carol (Greg) Nelson of Mankato, MN, Connie (Bob) Matt of Lawrenceville, GA, and Annie (Michael) Kelly-Cohen of Ft Lauderdale, FL; 17 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Helen Grider of Virden, IL and Edna Holly of Ocala, FL. Preceded in death by her husband, Bob Johnsen; mother, Maude Rollins; and sisters: Altha Ruble of IN and Peg McCurdy of CA. Ruth was born in Hammond, IN on May 25, 1929 to Maude (Rollins) and Harold Wilson. She married Robert W. Johnsen on February 14, 1948. Ruth was employed by Yellow Cab Company as a Dispatcher for over 30 years. She also was a foster parent in Lake County, IN. Ruth lived in Munster, IN from 1960-1996 where she was a member of the First Church of God. She then moved to Pembroke Pines, FL until 2005, finishing out her last days in Lawrenceville, GA. Ruth's true joy was being with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.. Schererville, IN). Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Thank you to all who loved this woman of strength, gentleness, and incredible honor. A special thank you for the angelic care mama received during her last days at Peachtree Hospice Center.
