Salvatore Sam P Federico

Salvatore P. Federico, age 83, of Gary, IN passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janice; four children: Debra (Jim) Minyard, Anthony (Merry) Federico, and twins Andrea (Erich) Federico and Scott (Jan) Federico; three step children: Kevin (Denise) Baker, Kathy (Ronnie) Heacock and Keith (Macinda) Baker; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters: Rose Dallas and Carmen Camillari; brother, Louie Federico; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Federico was preceded in death by his parents: Sabatino and Rose Federico; two brothers: Frank and Tony Federico; two brothers- in-law: George Dallas and Bill Camillari; and sister-in-law, Lena Federico. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Mary Catholic Church, 525 N. Broad St., Griffith, IN with Rev. Theodore Mens and Rev. Mick Kopil con-celebrating the mass. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of US 30), Schererville, IN. Prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Federico was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Griffith, IN. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post #66 of Griffith, IN. Sam enjoyed playing cards, bowling and dancing.
