Sandra "Sandy" Lee Harney (nee Vedder), born on July 9, 1945, passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 80. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, James W. Harney, Sr.; sons, James, Jr. (Malinda), Donald (Sherry), and Michael (Autumn); grandchildren, Jennifer (Kyle), Brittany (Brian), Kayla (Andrew), Miranda (Jacob), Dakota, Nicholas, Adam, and Hannah; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Wilkie "Jean" McGuire (nee Whittington); and her brother, Stephen C. McCarty.
Services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial to immediately follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Sandy loved to cook holiday meals for the whole family. She was an amazing gift-giver, often ordering items on Amazon to give out generously to her loved ones. She was all about spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
