Shirley Elizabeth Bowles Chalmers, age 82, was welcomed into Heaven on Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022. She was born July 22, 1939 in Covington, TN. Shirley was the second of six children born to Edwin Boyce Bowles and Edith Louise Mix Bowles.
She is survived by her sister, Brenda Travis (Bo); daughter, Trish Harrington (Guy); son, Mike Slack (Judy); step-son, Tom Chalmers; step-daughter, Cherie Newton; step-daughter, Claire Huhn; and step-son, Don Huhn (Sherry). She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a loving sister, mother, step-mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, telling each they were her favorite. She enjoyed working in her garden, feeding the birds and watching sports. She especially enjoyed serving her fellow Senior Saints.
She will be greatly missed by those she cared for and served.
Her favorite saying was “I LOVE YOU MORE.”
