Terry is the loving wife of 69 years to Donald Borem; cherished mother to David (Cheryl) Borem of Hammond, Darlene Gautreaux of Griffith, Timothy (Linda) Borem of Orland Park, Kathleen "Angel" Borem of Hobart, and Susan Anderson of Schererville; proud grandmother to Jill Gautreaux, Jeff Gautreaux, Ryan (Gabrielle) Meyer, Greg Meyer, Tim Borem, Jaclyn (Dominic) Mangerson, Jessica Anderson, Brendan Anderson and Nick Anderson; great-grandmother to Kaia, Michael, Joshua, Maverick and Archer; beloved sister to the late Bernard (Lillian) Wojciechowski, Robert (Donna) Wojciechowski, the late Walter D. "Shine" (Pat) Wojciechowski, and the late Janet "Jay" (the late Butch) Madryk; and aunt and friend to many.
Terry was a wonderful homemaker and caregiver to her children and, later in life, worked at the Purdue Calumet bookstore for many years. She had the magic touch with getting flowers to bloom in magnificent displays that were admired by all. She loved being poolside in the summer and was known for keeping her pool immaculate. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan who would rarely miss watching a game with her beloved Donald by her side. Many were taught the polka by her and were never the same after. She loved to dance and laugh and got to do a lot of that throughout her life.
She loved her children fiercely and devoted much of her life to caring for her special needs daughter, Kathy.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She would frequently attend their sporting events and was their biggest fan in the stands. She also had the best sleepovers that blossomed into her becoming best friends as her grandchildren grew older.
She was always the life of the party and would bring a joyous energy to any situation with family, friends or strangers alike. Her feistiness, sense of humor and caring nature reflected her LOVE for life, people and God.
Her humor kept her young at heart and her personality was larger than life. The world will be a little less fun and comedic without her, but she left a piece of herself in all of us and will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 1:00 pm until the time of her Funeral at 3:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Therese will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
