Thomas James Anders

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sandra Anders; daughter, Gabrielle (Ryan) Meyer; step son, Michael Rae; granddaughter, Kaia J. Meyer; brothers, Raymond (Pat) Augustine and Robert (Mary Ellen) Anders; nephews, Michael (Jodi) Augustine, Joseph Augustine, Kurtis (Faith) Anders and Christopher Anders; niece, Justine (Mark) Bachner and many dear friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Josephine Anders.

Tom was born May 9, 1945 to the late Raymond and Josephine Anders and was a graduate of Thornton Fractional South High School. He proudly served our country in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 146 in Morocco, IN. Tom retired from Inland Steel with over 30 years of service and was a member of Local 1010. He was an avid animal lover especially of dogs and enjoyed gardening, fishing and golfing. Tom was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Stephen Kosinski officiating.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
