THOMAS JAMES HAMMOND CROWN POINT, IN, age 64, of Crown Point, IN passed away Friday, September 5, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nadine; son, Nicholas (Amanda) Hammond; two grandchildren: twins, Crosby and Hazel Hammond; two sisters: Susan Whittington and Patricia McCauley; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hammond was preceded in death by his parents: Merl and Elsie Hammond; and brother, Larry Hammond. Mr. Hammond was currently involved in the family business, known as Langel's in Schererville. He also enjoyed fishing. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of U.S. 30) Schererville, IN with Pastor Ken Puent officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Hammond was currently involved in the family business, known as Langel's in Schererville. He also enjoyed fishing.
