

Timothy E. Drury, 63, of Schererville, IN, passed away at home on August 28th, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. For four years, Kathy was by her husband’s side as he battled ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). He lived and fought ALS to the end. Born on September 24, 1961, Tim dedicated his life to the service.
Tim joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1980 and was honorable discharged in 1984. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune and then on to Okinawa for two years as an infantryman. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1984 and served for 31 years. His military career took him to various parts of the East and West Coast and anywhere by a body of water. During his 31 years he served as a Gunner’s mate, search and rescue, law enforcement, ship inspector, in charge of the armory in Virginia, and was a Chief Warrant Officer. He also served five years as a civilian. During his career he earned numerous commendations for his bravery and leadership. His commitment to his country was unwavering and was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
In his retirement, Tim enjoyed camping, biking, working in his yard, and working out. He enjoyed sharing stories with family and friends.
Tim is survived by his wife Kathy of nineteen years; his daughters Erin (fiancé Eddie Eklund) Stevens of Spring Hill, FL and Monica (fiancé Kyle Lane) Drury of Palm Bay, FL; his brothers Pat (Alice) Drury of Fishers, IN, Carey (Kim) Drury of Bristol, IN, Todd (Janice) Drury of Lowell, IN; his sister Beth (Ken) Mulholland of Redondo Beach, CA. Tim is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Tim was predeceased by his parents David and Jean Drury.
His legacy of service, love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
A funeral service to honor Tim’s life and service to his country will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 8178 Cline Ave in Crown Point, with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 P.M. Following the service, military honors will be rendered.
