Walter was born January 7, 1926, in Phoenix, Illinois to the late Walter and Marie (Sarnowski) Goletz Sr. Also preceding in death is his son William Goletz, and three sisters.
Surviving are his wife Barbara (Waterman) Goletz, children Lynn Jager, Laurie Goletz, and Allen (Ljiljana) Goletz, grandchildren, Dianna, Rhonda (Daniel), Valerie, Dawn, Nicole (Rick), Ryan, Christina, and Sarah, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Mr. Goletz was a owner and operator and meat cutter in the area for over 65 years. He selflessly served the United States Marine Corp. during WWII serving the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the VFW #6841 of Lowell and American Legion member of Lowell.
Visitation will be from 3-8pm Friday, November 29, 2014 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave; Schererville, IN). Funeral services will be Saturday, November 30, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
