Anne Marguerite Reese, age 68, of Carrollton, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2024, surrounded by her daughters. She was born on February 23, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was raised by her incredible mother, Dorothy Colquitte Fox, who was not only her mother but also her best friend.
Anne graduated from Notre Dame High School, which she attended for the entirety of her school years, in 1974. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in General Business from Midwestern State University in 1978. While at MSU she was active in the Chi Omega sorority and remained very close to her “sisters” throughout her life.
After college, Anne moved to Dallas to start her career at HKS, where she met and fell in love with her future husband, John Reese. Anne and John married on May 5, 1984, bought a home together in Carrollton, and had two daughters, Caroline in 1990 and Catherine in 1992. They were married 32 wonderful years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed spending her free time with her family and friends. Anne loved attending all of her daughters’ sporting events growing up and taking girl’s trips together each summer once they graduated college. She never turned down a dinner invitation and enjoyed catching up with friends over Tex-Mex and margaritas. Anne’s proudest moment, however, was when she became “Gigi” to her first granddaughter, Ellie. She was the most amazing grandmother and loved spending time with her and spoiling her with new toys and clothes (and lots of love)!
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, John Reese, and her parents, Ross Fox and Dorothy Colquitte Fox. She is survived by her daughters, Caroline Reese, and Catherine LaRue and husband Matt; granddaughter, Ellie LaRue; sister-in-law, Martha Zavaleta; nephews, Jay Zavaleta and his wife, Val, and Jeff Zavaleta and his wife, Kim; and niece, Jennifer Cheek and her husband Chris.
A memorial service will be held Monday, July 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bent Tree Bible Fellowship Chapel, 4141 International Parkway, Carrollton, Texas 75007. Flowers may be sent to Ted Dickey West Funeral Home in Dallas or memorial donations can be made to Susan G. Komen in her honor at http://www.info-komen.org/goto/AnneReese .
