

Betty was passionately independent and at age 50 courageously started a new life when moving to Dallas, TX. She was a caring, take-charge person who loved to laugh and celebrate life. Her warm, gracious smile touched the lives of all who met her. Most of all, her family and friends were her world. Betty was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, who will be missed, yet always remembered, by all that knew her.
Betty was preceded in death by her two sisters, Beverly Hampton, and Barbara Elkins. She is survived by her four children, Lisa Timm (Roy) of Ossineke, MI., Cindy Brown (Pat) of Corunna, ONT, Mark VanDette (Robin) of Braselton, GA, Susan Brown (Pat) of Plano, TX; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Nead (Marc), Christopher Brown (April), Patrick Brown, Erin Brown, Andrew VanDette, Taylor VanDette and Emily Timm; five great grandchildren; a brother, Les VanAlstine; and several nieces and nephews. Betty’s life was also blessed with her dear friends, fondly known as her extended family, fulfilling her life with laughter, fun and wonderful memories.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas, TX. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010 also at All Saints Catholic Church, Dallas TX, where Betty was a member.
