His battle with serious medical issues in recent years following a life-altering stroke demonstrated his courage in facing life’s challenges with persistence and eternal optimism.
Cal was born on November 7, 1956 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, to parents Charles L. Boudreaux and Anna Mae Hebert Boudreaux. After graduating with a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Cal relocated with his family to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, where he led a successful career as an aerospace engineer with Lockheed Martin, working on projects for the space program and military defense. He later worked at NASA Space Center in Houston as a quality control engineer.
Calvin left the world too soon, and will be missed dearly by his family. He loved life and loved sharing that joy with others. In his free time, Cal enjoyed scuba diving, cooking and travel. He shared a life-long interest in the latest computer technology, cars and had a big heart for animals, especially cats. He made great memories with his family in trips to Europe and throughout the United States, and always loved running the roads throughout Texas and Louisiana, whether for work or to spend time with family. Cal will be remembered as a resilient, big-hearted, larger-than-life individual, as well as a loving father, brother, son and friend.
He is survived by his daughter and her family: Michelle Giltner, her husband Kevin Giltner, and daughter Madeline Giltner of Plano, Texas.
He is also survived by his mother Anna Boudreaux of Lafayette, Louisiana, as well as his sisters Judy and Diane, brother Chuck, their spouses and families.
Cremation Rites will be accorded and a celebration of life for Cal will be held at a later date.
Ted Dickey West Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas has charge of arrangements.
