

Chester Marvin Harvey passed peacefully at his home in Plano, Texas with his loving family at his side on June 15, 2010. Born in Dallas, Texas on May 7, 1933, Marvin attended Adamson High School and Arlington State College and served his country as a corporal in the US Army while stationed in Baumholder Germany. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years Sara, their sons Scott and Randy and their wives Vicki and Kim, his four grandchildren Aaron Harvey and wife Jody, Jordan Harvey and wife Adrienne and Joel and Kelsey Harvey, three great grandchildren, Peyton, Jake, and Ava Harvey, his sister Carolyn Pritchett, and his sisters in law Cindy Morris and Peggy Furgeson, also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents C.B. and Ruth Harvey, and his sister LaVonne Gilbert. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the many prayers and thoughtful gestures extended to Marvin in his time of need. A very special thank you to the awesome nurses of the heart failure clinic at Medical Center of Plano, especially Ramona and Phyliss, who for years gave him such wonderful treatment and always with the utmost kindness and caring. A memorial service for Marvin will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 21st with family receiving guests at 1:00 pm just prior to the service, both at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. A family interment will be held on a later date at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas.
