Diana Lee Lane, a honey-haired dynamo with a genuine zest for helping others, died after a lingering illness in Dallas, Texas, on Jan. 5, 2012. Fondly remembered for the cheerful twinkle in her eyes, an energetic spirit and her love of interacting with people, Di retired in July 2010 and continued to live at her home in the Dallas area.
She excelled in her career as a training center registrar for a global company, promoting and managing class enrollment in addition to assisting students who attended the center from across the country. As a testament to her professional approach, infused with charm, patience, and an ever-present sense of humor, many returning students have continued to request Di’s assistance, unaware that she had retired. And as well, she inspired the love and esteem of her co-workers, evidenced by friendships that endured past her retirement.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, Di moved to Texas after she married, where she raised her children, Sheryl, Stacey and Duayne. She worked for the Harris Corporation, followed in 1990 by a move to her job as registrar for CSI, now a part of Schneider Electric.
Preceded in death by her parents, survivors include her brother, Larry Leach and his wife, Carolyn, and brother, Terry Leach; daughter, Sheryl Turner and her husband, John; daughter, Stacey Lee Jaynes-Cronk and her husband, Kelly; son, Duayne Jaynes and his wife, Rhonda; and grandchildren, Ashley, Sami Jo, and Teri-Lynn Turner; Cameron, Dani, and McKenzee Cronk; and Jessica Jaynes Paez and Dustin Jaynes.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made in Di’s name to the American Cancer Society.
