Donna Carter

She attended Northern Illinois University where she met her husband, Donald H. Carter. She and Don were married December 19, 1955. Together, they raised three children, moved around the country and owned several businesses. They were married almost 50 years.

Most recently, Donna was the owner and managing partner of Cornerstone Roofing in Plano, Texas. She owned and managed that company for over 35 years and was very proud of that business. Her hobbies included reading, gardening and bird watching. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and her extended work family. Donna especially loved her dogs, of which she had many over the years. She is survived by her newest puppy, Gigi.

Donna is survived by her children, Donald R. Carter (Joan), Dawn Carter and Darci Norris; her grandchildren Brian Carter, Michael Carter (Kyndall), Jennifer Lake (Atlas), Carter Norris and Dalton Norris, and great-grandchildren Sofia and Benjamin Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A memorial service will be held on January 19, 2022 at 2 PM at Ted Dickey West funeral home in Plano, TX. Donations in her honor may be made to your local animal shelter or the ASPCA.
