After several years of suffering chronic pain the Good Lord called Ellen F. Rossini home to paradise on October 8, 2014. She was born Ellen Frances Coen in Atlanta, GA on April 4, 1934 and was raised in Louisville, KY, Washington D.C. and Nashville, TN where she met her husband, Carl Rossini, then serving in the Air Force. Ellen was the loving wife of Carl for 59 years, and the doting mother of five sons and three daughters, 27 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Ellen's eight children include triplet son Carl Jr. and his wife Ellen L. and their children Carl III, Tony, Julia and Maria; triplet son William; triplet son Murray and his wife Laura and their daughters Amy and Ashley; Son Nick and his wife Terri and their daughters Anna and Christina and her husband Mark; daughter Teresa and her children Angela and husband Noah and great granddaughter Gracie; John and his wife Kari and great grandchildren Maria, Bernadette and John Kobe; daughter Mary Clare and son Paul; daughter Mary and her husband Tom and their children Nicholas, Christopher, Catherine, Anthony, Elizabeth and Stephen; daughter Elizabeth and her husband Alex and children Natalie, Becca, Joey and Caroline; son Gino and wife Rita and their children Caroline, Thomas, Sophia, Lydia and Marianne.
Her siblings include Rev. William Coen, Harpers Ferry, WV, Dan Coen, Nashville, TN, Joe Coen and his wife Rose of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Anita Terpstra, Cedar Rapids, IA.
Ellen was active in her church St. Mark the Evangelist in Plano, having served at Eucharistic Minister to the Plano nursing homes as well as RCIA sponsor. She also served as a counselor at the While Rose Crisis Pregnancy Center in Dallas. For the past seven years she enjoyed retirement living with her husband at the Highland Springs Retirement Community in far North Dallas.
Visitation and Rosary will be held Sunday at 7:30 pm at St. Mark the Evangelist Church located on Alma Dr. and 15th St., Plano with the Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas at www.prolifedallas.org.
