

Born October 10, 1924 in Draper, NC to Bonnie and Benton Ashworth and passed away on August 26, 2014. Lois was a long time resident of Dallas. At a young age, she married Jack Short, a soldier who died in WWII. They had a son. Lois later married Air Corp Pilot Merlyn Myer. They had three children. She was the third of six children. Lois was a gifted seamstress and craftswoman. But her dedication to family and home were her greatest attributes. She will be remembered for her beauty, her lovely southern demeanor, and some will remember her recollections of her colorful conversations with Govenor Rick Perry. Preceded in death by husband Merlyn, brother Jack Ashworth, sisters Irene Snyder and Lillie Stanley and grandson James Bryan Myer. She is survived by sisters Betty Brazier and Peggy Walker, children Jack Short, Jeanie (Bob) Beaulieu, Jim (Sandy) Myer, Janice (Mark) Smith. Grandchildren Rich Hightower, Margie Filson, Mark Myer, Alex Smith, and Elliot Smith, great grandchildren Bradley, Carson, Emma, and Samantha Myer and step great grandson Gabriel Henry.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014, 11AM, at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252. In liue of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org/donate
