

1934 to Walter Sheldon and Willie Lovey (Rutledge) Miller. Floyd married the love of his life, Tommie Morris in 1955 and they raised two
children, Shannon and Steve. He served as a KC-135 pilot in the United States Air Force from 1954 – 1974 and flew missions all over
the world. He is a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon retirement from the military, Floyd flew business aviation with Jet Fleet
Corporation out of Love Field. Floyd was known for his charm, wit and class....and was always the life of the party! He had a grand love
of the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and shared that love and respect for the outdoors with his grandsons. Floyd and Tommie
enjoyed many travels during their life together.
He is survived by daughter, Shannon Johnson and husband, Mike; Steven Miller and wife, Terry; brothers, Walt and Bruce Miller;
grandchildren, Nathan Pheiffer and wife Jenni, Erin West and husband, David, Sam Pheiffer, Megan Gaddis and husband, Jason,
and Mallory Miller, and great grandchildren, Jack, Lucy, Daphne, and Graham.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Tommie Miller and his identical twin brother and lifelong best friend, Lloyd.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church, 1901 E. Peters Colony, Carrollton, Texas 75007. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Floyd’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org. The date for a military service at DFW National Cemetery will be determined at a later time.
The family wishes to extend deep appreciation and gratitude for the staff and caregivers at Prestonwood Court Assisted Living/Memory Care, and to VNA Hospice. Their kind, loving, and professional care was a blessing to Floyd and all those who loved him.
