

Jerry was a graduate of Fort Madison High School, Iowa. She married Jim Tieperman in 1952 and started a family in Newton, Kansas and relocated to Arkansas City, Kansas in 1965. Jerry worked in her father’s speakeasy, where she entertained guests playing the piano.
Jerry, in her spare time, raising eight children, worked in many capacities including Santa Fe, Rodeo Meats, G.E., Standard Oil, and supporting children in various jobs including paper routes, farm jobs, and gas stations.
Jerry stayed immersed in her Catholic faith, volunteering and participating in church events. She was very involved with the Altar Society in Arkansas City, Kansas. She was a current parishioner of Prince of Peace Catholic Community in Plano, Texas.
Jerry’s children and grandchildren were her life. She was an accomplished pianist, whether playing show tunes at nursing homes, hymns at her church or Christmas songs during the holidays. Jerry was an avid sports fan of kids, college, and professional sports. Most of Arkansas City knows Jerry for her cinnamon rolls that were always present at her church and sporting events. She loved traveling, visiting her children, and never missed a chance to talk about her love for water and the Mississippi River.
Frances was preceded in death by two sisters; Delphine DeSpain, Margie Donahue; two brothers, John Haas, and Robert Haas; grandson, Seth Tieperman; and son-in-laws, Doug Hunter and Earl Tomlin. She is survived by her eight children and their spouses, Greg (Cindy) Tieperman of Plano, Texas, John (Trisha) Tieperman of Frisco, Texas, Barbara Tomlin of Boerne, Texas, Patricia (Jeff) Seitz of Corpus Christi, Texas, Julie (Chuck) O’Reilly of Plano, Todd Tieperman of Owasso, Oklahoma, Robert (Melanie) Tieperman of Centerville, Texas, Amy (Nicholas) Colucci of Alexandria, Virginia; 18 grandchildren, Tyson, Lori, Keeley, Connor, Taylor, Lindsay, Tricia, Ashlee, Tara, Chad, Teigen, Tate, Kevin, Brianna, Kynlee, Braxton, Johnny, Daniel; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Hingst of Burlington, Iowa; and brother, Charles (Peggy) Haas of Dubuque, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11am in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5100 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75093 with Father Tom Cloherty as celebrant. A rosary will begin at 10:15am in the church prior to mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 302 South B Street, Arkansas City, KS 67005.
