

Landes, Gary B. Gary Bruce Landes (1949-2012) Gary Bruce Landes, 63, a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25 at Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch, TX. Born August 13, 1949, to Bill & Betty Landes of Denver City, Texas, Gary was a 5th generation Texan. After graduating from Denver City High School, he attended Texas Tech University and earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering. Following college, Gary embarked on a 39 year career with General Electric in Power Generation Services as a Senior Field Engineer. He was awarded many service awards during this time, and in 2001 was inducted into the Academy of Steam Turbine-Generator Constructors. Gary was an avid reader, traveler, and storyteller. Among his favorite tales were the Chronicles of ED, his beloved rescued Boxer. Gary was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, was involved in the Special Olympics, and had served on the executive committee for the Carrollton Farmers Branch Soccer Association. He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Landes. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rebecca Morgan Landes, of Carrollton; his daughter, Shannon Lee Landes, of Carrollton; his son William Mason Landes and wife Courtney Siegel Landes, of Fort Worth; his mother, Betty Lee Landes, of Andrews; his sister Cindy Landes Porter and husband Dennis Porter, of Andrews. Memorials may be directed to Legacy Boxer Rescue, Special Olympics of Texas, or any other charity of your choice .
