

Dr. Hector Dario Restrepo, age 79, passed away on January 12, 2022 in Plano, TX. He was born on March 11, 1942 in Bolivar, Colombia to Esther Castro Restrepo and Juan Bautista Restrepo. Hector was raised in Medellin, Colombia and graduated from Javeriana University in Bogota in 1966 where he studied medicine.
He completed his anesthesia residency at the Medical College in Virginia in 1976.
Hector married Elizabeth Bartley in 1977 and the couple had two children. He was an anesthesiologist at many North Texas hospitals and surgery centers where he worked for more than 30 years. Prior to living in Plano, he also worked as an anesthesiologist in Kingsville, TX for 10 years. He spent 55 years as a physician caring for thousands of patients who were touched by his kindness and care.
In his spare time Hector enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard. He was proud of his flowers and vegetables and shared them with neighbors and friends. He loved working in his garden. He especially liked helping his granddaughters plant and harvest their own fruits and vegetables.
His family and friends will always remember him as a friend to all, a good neighbor, and someone who could always be called upon to help. His family will remember him as a loving, caring, and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Hector was known for his kindness, generosity, good humor, and caring for his family, friends, and co-workers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and one sister. Hector is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, his son Matthew of Plano, his son Andrew of Garland, two granddaughters Elena and Alissa of Plano, his brother John Bartley and wife Julie of Suffolk, Virginia, six sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
