

Hilda Fruhman Glass, 96 of Dallas, died peacefully on January 24, 2015, surrounded by family and close friends. Hilda was a long time member of Beth El Congregation in Fort Worth, until her move to Dallas in 2004.
Known for her wit, intelligence, fashion sense, and great skin, Hilda finally attended college in her 60’s, when she completed several writing courses at Tarrant County Community College. She owned and operated Andrea Stuart Clothing store as well as Rankin’s Clothing Store. She worked for the Lighthouse for the Blind, as Secretary /Receptionist. She worked at Berlitz school of Languages and the American Flying School for 20 years, until her mid 80‘s, teaching English to foreign dignitaries, business executives, pilots and others from around the world. Many of her students found a home away from home. She stopped working only when her vision loss prevented her from driving.
She loved to read, including books on tape daily after she lost her eyesight, kept up with politics and current events. She loved shopping at Stein Mart every week. She was known for her incredible cooking and entertaining friends. She loved going to musicals all her life in Ft. Worth at Casa Manana and Bass Hall. When she moved to Dallas in 2004, she went to a musical every Sunday. She was known as “Gammy” and “Gammy the Great” to her family and close friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Edward Glass, in 1981, she is survived by her son, Stuart Glass (and Joan Davidow), Dallas, daughter Andrea McDaniel (and Robert), Frisco, grandchildren Sally Glass, Houston, Eddie Glass, Dallas, Missy Holden (and Brad), Frisco, Sean McDaniel (and Ben Cohn), NYC, and three great grandchildren, Jake and Jax Holden and Allister Cohn-McDaniel. She is also survived by her sister, Pearl Lee Rose, Houston. A special thanks to Carol Ann Cohen and her caregiver of almost 7 years, Eloise Bales.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12:30 PM at Ted Dickey WEST Funeral Home located at 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252.
A Graveside Service will later follow at 2:30 PM at Greenwood Cemetery located at 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX 76107.
Missy and Brad Holden will be receiving visitors at their home (14074 Willow Bend Drive, Frisco, TX 75035) beginning at 7:00 PM. There will be a brief service at 7:30 with reception to follow.
