James Joel Glenn, age 84, of Plano, Texas passed away on Thursday October 11, 2018. James was born Saturday June 23, 1934 in Quanah, Texas to Essie Dale (Thomas) and Jewell Denson Glenn Sr. He joined older brother Jewell Denson Jr.
James grew up in Quanah, Texas. He was a well-mannered, sweet, and all around nice boy. As a youth he broke (trained) horses and had a love for tractors. He was known by friends and relatives as Jim. He graduated from Quanah High School and later joined the United States Air Force.
Jim made a life-time career in the United States Air Force, serving for twenty-two years, and retiring as Chief Master Sergeant. While in the military he earned several award/ribbons, including Good Conduct, Outstanding Unit, Longevity Service, and Special Operations, Group. After retiring from the military Jim went on to pursue other career paths, one of which he retired from as a Regional Manager for EZGO/Textron.
Jim was the proud father and grandfather of four children; Mary Lynn, Joel, Jay, and Matt and four grandchildren; James, Steven, Eli, and Bella-Marie.
Jim was known for telling great stories of his days in the Air Force and his childhood. He could always be relied on for a laugh with his funny jokes. He enjoyed fishing, sitting on his porch, and going in his boat on Lake Whitney. His favorite place to be was on the Lake fishing. He thoroughly loved playing with his grandchildren and their pets.
Jim was preceded in death by; mother Essie Dale Glenn and father Jewell Denson Glenn Sr.
Jim is survived by; daughter Mary Lynn Glenn Howell (Rudy); son Joel Glenn (Mary); son Jay Glenn (Maria); son Matt Glenn (Dianne); grandson James Glenn, grandson Steven Glenn, grandson Eli Glenn and granddaughter Bella Glenn; brother, Jewell Denson Glenn Jr. (Suzie Glenn) and many extended family and friends.
