June graduated from Midland High School, in 1957, after which she attended the then Odessa Jr College in Odessa, TX. She loved sports, travelling and getting together with her children and grandchildren at area parks and lakes. As a teenager her love of music found her singing in church where her father often played piano. In college she found great joy in singing in choir and following music and the theater arts. Later she brought her talent to the Order of the Eastern Star in Dallas where she was a member, ultimately becoming Worthy Matron of her chapter. Towards the end of her working career, she seemed to find the most enjoyment at Walnut Place Nursing Home in Dallas where she worked until she retired. Before and after retirement she travelled extensively across the US and abroad. June will be missed by her family, and friends who knew her by her broad smile, spirited laugh, and her love of her extended family.
June was preceded in death by her parents Earl Lee Roy and Lina Belle DeWolfe, her son, Kory Brian Hunt, her brother Marvin Lee Dewolfe Sr., and her sister Mildred DeWolfe Roberts. She is survived by her husband, Garland Ziegenhorn, and two sons, Paul Allen Hunt and wife Lauren, and Roy Lee Hunt and wife Hope and their daughters, Heather Kearney and husband, Josh, and Stephanie Hunt and daughter, Paisley, along with grandsons Brian Hunt and Robert Smith. Also surviving June are her sister-in-law, Sara DeWolfe and her three children, Greta Murray, Pam Castilla, and Marvin Lee Dewolfe Jr., and June’s nieces Kim Scruggs and Cindy Niji.
In lieu of flowers, for those who might like to remember June with a memorial donation, contributions to the San Angelo TX Salvation Army, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Per her wishes, June’s body has been cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Ted Dickie West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, Texas.
