

Mark Douglas Karr passed away on September 14, 2022 in Richardson, TX at the age of 67. Mark was born in Dallas, TX to Awilda and Duaine Karr. He grew up in Dallas and Richardson, TX and attended JJ Pearce High School where he graduated in 1972. Mark worked as a contract pilot for over 40 years. He went on to marry his soulmate, Janet Duncan, in 1978, and together they had 3 children. He was an avid car enthusiast, where he had a passion for vintage Corvettes and Camaros. You could often find Mark working on his cars in the garage, or cruising around Dallas on Forest Lane back in the 70's, often making stops at Keller’s. When people think of Mark they will remember his infectious smile, sense of humor, the devotion he has to Janet and his selfless spirit. Mark had the energy of a room full of 2 year olds. He could ride his bike 31 miles, come home and mow and weedeat the entire yard up until his cancer diagnosis 1 year ago.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Awilda and Duaine Karr, and grandparents Lois Joseph McDaniel, Virginia Lancaster, and Cleburne and Beulah Karr. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Janet Karr; children Jennifer Karr, Jeff and wife Lara Karr, Joey and wife Kelly Karr; grandchildren, Penny and Maggy Karr; sister, Kathy Bass; best friend of 53 years, Ken Swayze; as well as many loving friends and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at Warehouse Church at 600 Data Dr, Plano, TX on Saturday, September 17th at 9:30 AM. Lifelong friend, Ken Swayze is hosting a catered reception that he prepared that will be held immediately after the memorial in the Fellowship Hall of Warehouse Church.
