Martha Drucilla Wellman

Martha Drucilla Wellman, 80, passed away on December 25, 2023 in The Colony, Texas. She was born July 28, 1943 in Colorado City, Texas to Willie Newton Bacon and Nellie Maude Bacon. Martha was raised in Westbrook, Texas and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1961. She retired from Veratex and Tidi Omnia after more than 30 years of dedicated work.

In her spare time, Martha enjoyed spending time with friends and family. You could often find her working on puzzles or enjoying a good card game. She will be remembered by her friends and family as a loving and caring person.

Martha is survived by her sons, Larry (Dean) Wellman II and Shon Lee Wellman; grandchildren, Britiany Adams, Tiffany Wellman, Zachary Wellman and Kristy Wellman; great grandchildren, Neveah Adams, Cecelia Adams, Brynleigh Wellman, Wyatt Wellman, Wednesday Adams, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Martha (Marty) was known to everyone as a very special lady who was always willing to help. Her special smile and infectious laughter will be fondly remembered. It is a sad day to lose someone so precious and special to so many. She will be missed by many.

Martha has now rejoined with her father, Willie Newton Bacon; mother, Nellie Maude Bacon; brothers, Carl Wright Bacon and Willie Newton Bacon Jr. to continue the journey ahead.
