

Marvin was born on May 14, 1950 in Galveston, Texas, and was raised in the Shreveport, Louisiana area.
Marvin found joy in helping others and creating special memories with his family and friends. Among those remaining who share these treasured memories are his loving wife of 48 years, Kathryn Mason Lessmann; mother, Bettye Michna; one daughter; one son; three granddaughters and two grandsons-in-law; one great grandson; a sister and brother-in-law; and a large number of extended family members. Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Henry Lessmann, Sr.; brother, Bennett Lessmann; and sister, Luci Michna.
Marvin was a faithful Christian and a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas. As a career insurance professional and business owner, he was dedicated to educating himself and serving others for more than 40 years. A graduate of C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, he earned a BBA from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and a Juris Doctorate from Empire College School of Law in Santa Rosa, California. He also held the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and several other professional insurance industry designations.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ted Dickey West Funeral Home in Dallas. Final resting place will be Sunset Columbarium at Sparkman/Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas. A private celebration of Marvin’s life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Association, or any other charity of special meaning to the donor.
