With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Sheila Brown, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, loyal friend, and compassionate animal lover, who passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 77. Sheila was born on September 12, 1947, and spent her life embracing the small town values of kindness, service, and unwavering love.
Sheila's heart was always open to others. Whether it was helping a neighbor in need, volunteering her time, or offering a comforting word to someone in distress, Sheila’s presence made the world around her a better place. Her love for animals, particularly cocker spaniels, was a defining part of her life, and she spent many years rescuing and caring for them.
Sheila’s work ethic was second to none, and she was known for her meticulous attention to detail. As a dedicated secretary for her town, she discovered a crucial oversight that ultimately saved her small town a substantial sum of money. In a moment of brilliance, Sheila uncovered that the cost to repaint the water tower was already included in the original contract, saving the town from a needless additional expense. This remarkable act of service led to her being elected mayor, a position she proudly held as she continued to serve the people she loved with the same care and diligence.
Sheila was married to the love of her life, Jerry Brown. Together, they shared a bond that transcended time, rooted in mutual respect and adoration. In their younger years, they could often be found riding motorbikes together, a pastime that brought them endless joy. Later, they enjoyed countless car rides in their beloved Buick, always seeking new adventures, always together. Sheila was also a constant support to Jerry, helping him with his plumbing business and contributing to its success through her organizational skills and unwavering dedication.
Sheila’s life was a testament to the power of love, service, and joy in the simple things. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, in every animal she saved, and in every life she touched.
