Sidney Paul Cook, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, friendship, and family. Born and raised in Wyoming County, West Virginia, Sidney was the cherished son of the late Jess and Susie Cook. His roots in West Virginia shaped the values he carried throughout his life—hard work, loyalty, and deep care for those he loved.
Sidney was a loving husband to Brenda Burress, with whom he shared over 20 years of marriage. Together they built a life grounded in partnership and commitment.
He was a proud stepfather to Lauren Reavis of Fort Worth, Texas, and Larry and Christina Burress of Carrollton, Texas. Sidney took great joy in his role as a grandfather to Kaitlynn Burress and Camden Reavis, whom he adored deeply.
Sidney is also survived by his beloved siblings, Roy, Herb, Jerome, Stephen, Judy, and their families with numerous nieces and nephews that reside in West Virginia, who remain united by the strong family bonds he held so dear.
Sidney was dedicated to his craft and recently retired after a 30 plus year career in the field of telecommunications. He was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love of hunting, fishing, cars, boats and motorcycles.
Those who knew Sidney will remember him for his quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to family. They may also remember him for his loyalty to Duke Basketball and his quirky obsession with Star Trek. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
