

He was born on August 28, 1939, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Carolyn Whited and George Stephen Barham, Jr., and is preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, George Stephen Barham, III. Worth was class of ’62 at Texas A&M College (now Texas A&M University), where he was a proud member of the Fish Drill Team and Company Spider D in the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.
He served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army Artillery Unit, where he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. After leaving the US Army, Worth continued his education, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Alabama, before trekking into the medical equipment sales industry.
Worth was a lifelong Episcopalian, where he was involved with the Vestry and Education for Ministry (EfM), as well as his work with the community garden through St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church in Pell City, Alabama. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodturning, stamp and coin collecting, and was well known far and wide as a great storyteller and a collector of people.
Worth is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rita Stone Barham, three sons, Worth Barham, Jr., Jonathan Barham (Iris), Peck Barham (Brie); his daughter, Caroline Terry (James); ten grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.
Worth is dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
