

Doris Marie (Mootry) Perkins November 7, 1935 - November 24, 2013 Doris Marie Perkins, 78, died Sunday, 11/24 after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Monty and Maxine Mootry and her husband, Jimmie Lee Perkins, 9/2004. Doris was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend to all who knew her. She was an excellent example of one who always showed patience, kindness, and generosity. Doris and Jimmie were married on December 23, 1956. They settled down in Delano. Jimmie joined the Delano Police Force and Doris became a homemaker. She liked to keep a nice home and she was an excellent seamstress. She was famous for her embroidered baby quilts and when her eyes started giving her trouble, she switched to knitting them. Many of these babies are grown now, but still have their quilts to this day. Doris is survived by her son and daughter, Dean and DiAnna Perkins and two sisters, Judy and Sarah Mootry. A memorial will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 800 22nd Avenue, Delano, California, 93215.
