Gerardo Tagala Labrador, aged 70, passed away on January 4, 2026. Born on July 26, 1955, Gerardo was a resident of Delano, California. Known for being thoughtful, hard-working, quiet, loyal, and care-free, he lived his life with quiet dignity and steadfast commitment to his values.
During his early years, Gerardo completed some high school education. He dedicated his career to working as a farm laborer in the grape fields and participated in the King Crab Leg trade in Alaska.
Gerardo was a devoted family man, survived by his son Reagan Labrador. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Leticia Calantes, Cary Dela Cruz, Julie Rogel, Ernesto Labrador, and Feliza Sarabia.
In his personal time, Gerardo found joy in watching Filipino cockfights during his earlier years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing cards (pusoy), mahjong, and visiting the casino.

The family of Gerardo extends their deepest gratitude to the many dedicated professionals who supported him throughout his health journey. Special thanks are given to United Health Care Center in Earlimart and the specialized care teams in Bakersfield, including Dr. Capote at Kern Vascular Center, Dr. Naijar at Comprehensive Cardiovascular, and cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Purewal at Adventist Health. We are also grateful for their care.
In Gerardo’s final days, he left his family with a simple yet profound command: "Always be happy!" This served as a gentle reminder to pause, practice gratitude, and cherish the small, beautiful moments in life we so often overlook.
