

During the Korean War, Silverio was petitioned by a relative in 1952 to go to Hawaii and enlist in the Marines. He was honorably discharge in 1956. In 1955, he returned to the Philippines and brought his bride back to Hawaii, where they had three children together. While living in Hawaii, he worked as a welder.
In 1960, Silverio and his family arrived in California where his youngest daughter was born. He begun working as a farm laborer. After his children graduated high school, he was promoted to agricultural foreman and worked until he was seventy.
Silverio is survived by his wife, Simplicia, residing in Delano, California, and they have four children. Darlene married Rocky Wharton, residing in Auburn, Washington, and they have two children, Kristina and Evan. Kristina married Colin Duffy, and they have two daughters, Cecilia and Evelyn. Evan married Ina, and they have two sons, Dominic and Tobias. Jesse married Linda Jamila and they have one child, Paul Jordan. Paul Jordan married Frances Ramos and they have three children, Nadia, Adelyn, and Isaiah. Hubert married Janet Ward, residing in Delano, California, and they have two children, Zachary and Taylor. Milagros has two children, Jessica and Matthew. Jessica married Patrick Lim and they have two daughters, Audree and Julia.
Silverio was respected by many, due to his generosity towards his relatives which most reside in Delano, California. Silverio was passionate about petitioning his many siblings, including their families, from the Philippines to America. During his retirement, he enjoyed activities of the casino. As they matured, they enjoyed attending the Delano Adult Center. The staff ensured socializing, mental and physical well-being. Silverio looked forward to this daily outing.
Celebration of Life services have been arranged with Delano Mortuary, 707 Browning Road, Delano, CA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm. A private chapel service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 10:00 am with graveside service to follow at 11:00 am.
The family would like to thank the Delano Adult Center, Adventist Health, and the hospice staff at Optimal Hospice. Most importantly, their grandson, Matthew, for being their caretaker for eight years, in which he selflessly provided love and care and still continues to care for his grandmother.
