Silvia Elicea Gonzalez

Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. On August 23, 2022, our beloved mother, Silvia Elicea Gonzalez rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings after a hard battle with ALS. She died peacefully at home surrounded and held by all her children. We won’t say that she lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she never lost hope. When anyone else would have broken, she stayed strong. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. 

Silvia was born in Venustiano Carranza, Michoacán on March 27, 1964 to her father, Rodolfo Elicea and mother, Elvira Gonzalez. Silvia is survived by her children, Faviola, Cinthia, Jasmin, Javier and Liliana & grandchildren, Christian, Shawn Antony, Everlyn, Deveen, Penelope, Luna and Sylvester.

Silvia taught her children the importance of hard work and higher education. She always encouraged her children to dream big and was proud of them. She was selfless and would give her children anything she had even if it meant she would go without. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. During her last years of life, she was blessed to have been loved and cared for by Eloy. In her darkest days, he always made her smile. She will be remembered as a beautiful, strong and loving mother, grandma, sister and friend. She will live on in the memories of her children, grandchildren, friends and loved ones.

A visitacion for Silvia will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Delano, 707 Browning Rd., Delano, CA 93215. A rosario will occur Monday, September 19, 2022 at 4:00 PM, 707 Browning Rd., Delano, CA 93215. A misa de cristiana sepultura will occur Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Iglesia Catolica de Santa Isabel de Hungria, 835 E Perkins Ave., Mcfarland, CA 93250. A servicio de compromiso will occur Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Panteon Norte del Distrito de Kern, 627 Austin St., Delano, CA 93215.

Serving as pallbearers are Javier Garcia, Ruben Elicea, Jose Luis Elicea, Rodolfo Elisea, Rafael Elisea, Christian Gonzalez and Eloy Jimenez.
