He was 82 years old. He is survived by his beautiful wife Ela Rios Elizondo of 61 yrs., along with their children from Eldest to youngest Sylvia Zarate, Urbano Elizondo Jr., Marylou Elizondo, Xavier Elizondo and Maggie Elizondo. Along with 11 grand children and 16 great grandchildren.
Urbano was born in Dr. Coss, Nuevo Leon on August 15, 1940. At the age of 21, he laid eyes on Ela Rios in the city of Wasco, California in March of 1961. It wasn’t long, in June of that same year of 1961, that
they left Wasco together and went to Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico where they wed on July 26, 1961. Urbano and Ela moved from Wasco to McFarland, and there they bought their first home in 1973. On
January 6, 1974, Urbano got baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Ela soon joined him and was also baptized. Both Urbano and Ela lived in this same home until he fell asleep in death. Urbano was a hard
worker and loved working with his hands. Throughout his life he enjoyed business ventures and was very creative and adventurous. He loved the outdoors, camping, skiing, and especially laughing. He had
a great fondness for the Sequoia National Forest. He was a man that celebrated others’ accomplishments and he found joy, not only in being happy himself, but in seeing others happy. He was humble and
kind, a loyal husband and responsible father and funny encouraging grandpa. A man of faith that valued the bible’s teachings and firmly believed in the resurrection hope that Christ mentioned at John 5:29.
He believed we must never give up hope and that God's promises were true. Even through to the end of his life, his faith remained steadfast. And he still managed to be funny too.
His beautiful heart will be missed by his family and friends and all who knew him. Till we meet again, Dad, grandpa, brother, friend
Revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.delanomortuary.com for the Elizondo family.
