Berta Williams

Singer - Berta May Williams, 78, passed away on Saturday December 4, 2010.

Mrs. Williams was born in Starks, LA. and lived most of her life in DeQuincy. She was employed at Phelps Correctional Facility and retired after 27 years of dedicated service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend that truly will be missed by all that knew her. She was the best.

She is survived by her three daughters; Lisa and husband Jack Massie of Singer, Connie Lemons of Singer and Kathleen Bradshaw of DeQuincy, son Carl Bradshaw and wife Barbara of DeQuincy, sisters; Georgia Martin of Longville and Alma Rose Leigh of Sulphur and a brother Jimmy Dewayne Perkins of Sulphur 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and . She is preceded in death by her husband Vernie Baggett, her parents, John T. and Hettie Perkins, brother Johnny Wayne Perkins and a sister Lurlene Clark.

Her funeral will be held on Monday December 6, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy with burial to follow in Magnolia cemetery in Ragley, Rev. Dusty Hoosier officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy
