

A lifelong resident of DeQuincy, he was a carpenter and mechanic. He was a Navy Veteran in the Cuban Crisis from 1962- 1966. Mr. Taylor loved shrimping and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.R. and Alva Taylor; son, Michael Andrew Taylor; and first wife, Lavern Taylor. Survivors include, wife, Cynthia Taylor; sons, Michael Wayne Johnson and wife ToniAn of Sulphur, and Steven Shane Johnson and wife Eva of Westlake; daughter, Chere' Alece Doran of Baton Rouge; brother, Robert Newton Taylor and wife Judy of Sulphur; grandchildren, Alexa Johnson, Sierra Johnson, Kailey Doran, Shade Johnson, Bowen Johnson, Michael Scotty Dwayne Taylor, Angie Taylor, Jason Taylor, Amanda Taylor and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 1:00p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne McEntyre officiating. Visitation will be at 5:00 til 9:00p.m. Thursday, January 17, at the funeral home and continue on Friday from 10:00a.m. until time of service.
