

DeQuincy--C. M."Jack" Perkins, 76, died October 11, 2010 in his residence. He was born in Beauregard Parish and lived in DeQuincy. He was a lifetime member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church. He retired from the La. State Department of Corrections. The joy of his life was going to church, hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Lee Perkins of DeQuincy, son; William Terry Perkins of DeQuincy, 3 daughters; Evelyn Estelle Franklin of DeQuincy, Joann Cooley of Singer, and Jackie Rose Smith of DeQuincy, a brother; Edward Wilson Perkins of DeQuincy, a sister; Henrietta Gentle of Fairwiew Hieghts, Il, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter and 1 step grandson.
Services will be Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Eastern Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Ray Bourque and Rev. Jimmy Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Alston Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday October 12 from 5-9p.m. at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home and will resume on Wednesday at 8a.m. at the church until time of the service.
