DeQuincy - Jimmy Don VanWinkle, 67, passed away on Saturday July 6, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. VanWinkle was born in DeQuincy and worked as a truck driver for North Star. He loved spending time at Toledo Bend fishing and he loved hunting.
Survivors include his daughters, Johnnie Rae VanWinkle and Tabitha Annette VanWinkle; and a sister, Patricia "Pat" Sonnier of DeQuincy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Eunice (Barrow) VanWinkle.
There will be a visitation at Hixson Snider Funeral Home on Wednesday July 10, 2013 from 5:00p.m. til 9:00p.m. Private interment will take place at a later date. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
